Hardware Training
Prior to distributing the new hardware at the beginning of the school year, teachers had to go through an orientation program explaining both how to operate the equipment and how it can effectively be used in a classroom setting.
Data Warehouse Training
All high schools requested and received a training on the use of the CCPS Data Warehouse site. The advantages of using the information contained within this site was continually reinforced during the presentation.
FCAT Explorer - Math and Reading
FCAT Explorer training was provided to all appropriate high school math teachers. This training focused on the technical aspects of the software as well as preferred ways of using it with students in various classroom settings.
Excelsior with Teachers, Office Staff, and Administrators
Excelsior is a continual training in progress. Data entry personnel have been trained in running Interim Reports and exporting grades to TERMS. Many teachers and administrators have been trained in the use and advantages of Principal Viewer, a tool for monitoring groups of students' progress.
RiverDeep Math and Science Training for Teachers
Selected secondary mathematics teachers and science teachers were trained on separate occassions on the use of RiverDeep software within the classroom. Math teachers were shown how to easily make tests and use the administrative software that is included with Destination Math.
RiverDeep Math Orientation for Parents, Students and even Grandparents!
An orientation program was provided for students and their families at Barron Collier High School, Naples High School, and Lely High School during their open house evening with parents.
Laureate Students
Ideas were presented at all of the participating high schools to laureate students for enhancing their laureate presentations using technology. In the weeks following this presentation, the high school IT Specialists worked with the students implementing these ideas.
